Chipotle Bacon  Burgers

Servings: Makes 4 sandwiches
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1/3 cup loosely packed fresh cilantro leaves
1/3 cup prepared chunky salsa
4 slices Monterey Jack cheese
4 Cobblestone Mill Chipotle Rolls
4 red leaf lettuce leaves (optional)
Additional salsa
8 slices crisp-cooked bacon

Preparation
  1. Combine ground beef, cilantro and 1/3 cup salsa in large bowl.
  2. Shape into four 1/2-inch-thick patties.
  3. Place patties on preheated gas grill grid over medium heat.
  4. Grill, covered, 7 to 8 minutes to medium doneness (160°F), turning occasionally.
  5. Top burgers with cheese slices during last minute of grilling.
  6. About 2 minutes before burgers are done, place rolls, cut sides down, on grid.
  7. Grill until lightly toasted.
  8. Place lettuce leaf on each roll bottom, if desired.
  9. Top with burger, additional salsa and 2 bacon slices.
  10. Close sandwiches.

Cook Time: 8 minutes

Total Time: 28 minutes

For charcoal grilling, place patties on grid over medium coals. Grill, uncovered, 11 to 13 minutes to medium doneness (160°F), turning occasionally. Top burgers with cheese and grill rolls as directed above.
